“There’s a movie from the 1980s called The Princess Bride,” says Nissa S., Inigo Meowtoya’s cat mom. “In the movie, there’s a character called Inigo Montoya, who was orphaned when his father was killed by a six-fingered man.” She adds, “Inigo Meowtoya was an orphaned kitten who we rescued. We don’t know if a six-fingered man was involved, but it seems entirely possible.”
Turns out “Meowtoya” was an apt name for little orphan Inigo, who loves to make his presence known at top volume. Nissa says, “Think you’re going to sleep in past 6 a.m.? No, Inigo will meow incessantly to demand his breakfast…. You want to go in any room without him? He does not agree and will meow until you let him in—and then immediately start meowing again until you let him out.”
Nissa decided to get pet insurance for Inigo after a surprise anaphylactic reaction to one of his 6-month vaccines. “The experience was terrifying for us, and we knew we had to be prepared if anything should happen to him again,” she says. Luckily, her employer offered Nationwide pet insurance. “We’ve been very happy … great customer service and the one claim we had to file was paid out quickly.”
